Understanding the Data

Magnetic intensity is measured in nanoTesla (nT) units.

Horizontal intensity (H) is derived from the measured horizontal magnetic field components: magnetic north (X) and magnetic east (Y).

Rate of change is the variation in intensity of the horizontal magnetic field from one minute to the next.

The graph shows time based on your browser's time zone.

Data is updated every minute. The maximum rate of change value is marked in the plot as a green (below threshold) or red (above threshold) dot.
